Undergraduate Project Management Certificate

The Project Management Certificate develops leaders who bring outstanding management skills and understanding to the critical problem of managing and leading project teams across a spectrum of business areas. The certificate provides both the theoretical knowledge and opportunity for the application of theory in the areas expected of project managers, preparing its graduates to manage and lead diverse project teams in any business environment. The program is aligned with the five Process Groups and nine Knowledge Areas in the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), the globally recognized standard for project management. Upon completion of this program, the graduate will have met the requirement of 35 hours of project management education for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the certificate, students should be able to demonstrate a variety of competencies that will be needed by project managers. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

  2. State an understanding of multicultural diversity in the business and project environment.
  3. Develop strategies to cope with organizational and project changes.
  4. Develop an awareness of the need for ethics and values at the core of project management.
  5. Become familiar with the Project Management Body of Knowledge that is generally recognized as good practice for managing projects.
  6. Demonstrate competence in the employment of tools, principles, and techniques of project management in order to achieve quality and excellence in the completion of projects.
