This page will help you understand more of the requirements, dates, and details to earn your master’s degree or graduate certificate from Antioch University Midwest

1. Complete the Online Application Form

2. Write and submit an Admissions Essay answering each of the following questions in meaningful detail:

For the Master of Education degree, please address questions #1-3 in a 1 – 2-page Word document:

1.  Why did you choose Antioch?

2. Why did you choose the program you are applying to?

3. What are your future plans and how do you connect this program to you plans?

For the Master of Arts degree(s), please reflect upon and summarize (one to five-page Word document):

1.  How do you think a Master’s degree can serve your educational goals in a way some other kind of professional degree cannot?

2.  What do you like to read, and why?

3. What are your educational, professional and personal learning goals and how do they interrelate?

4. A low residency distance learning program, such as MCL, works best for students who can demonstrate the following:

  • A strong vision for why an individualized course of study meets your areas of interests better than an already designed, traditional program
  • Self-direction and self-motivation
  • Strong writing skills
  • Comfort and experience with computers and internet technology

5. What did you learn about yourself in your undergraduate years with respect to your study and time management habits, and how will you use this learning to help you succeed in graduate school?

6. What support do you need at Antioch and from family and workplace to help you be successful in graduate school?

7. Why is Antioch University Midwest a good fit for achieving your educational goals?

4. Request transcripts from all colleges and universities you have previously attended.

Official transcripts must be sent directly to Antioch University, in an unopened sealed envelope.
